Even if you aren't on the Nukeproof Mega 290 but are on a modern enduro with a higher leverage suspension (150mm+ with 55mm and under stroke) you will definitely benefit from a Fox DHX2 shock! With the OEM Rockshox Super Deluxe Ultimate I was having to run 320psi to get 30% sag, and the stiction was nearly impossible to overcome. The bike felt more like a hard tail that would occasionally give and then immediately rebound with the fierceness. The kicky rebound was with rebound damping maxed! The OEM shock just wasn't doing the trick and was going to get me hurt - no adjusting could tame it. On my bike I have the Marzocchi Z1 coil fork up front (170mm) and the bike was entirely unbalanced between these two setups. The fork had supple small bump compliance, was predictable, and linear. The rear was a harsh pogo stick that didn't move until it broke free on a huge hit and then bucked you right back. Putting the DHX2 on my Nukeproof Mega IMMEDIATELY balanced the bike out. You could simply push down on a pedal with your foot and feel the bike's balanced nature front to rear. I simply put a few extra clicks of high speed rebound damping on the DHX2 (a personal preference for how I like to ride) and I doubt I'll adjust anything else on there it works so darn good right out of the box! I've ridden many other shocks (Fox X2, DPX2, Float, RP23, Monarch... etc etc) and I gotta say... for larger riders Fox has us on lock with the DHX2 and X2! My last bike I upgraded to an X2 as I found the DPX2 also a bit kicky and I was having to run a fairly high pressure. The larger range of adjustability lets you really tune the rebound settings on the X2 that comes with running higher air pressures, and the DHX2 is just so plush out of the box there's nothing crazy to chase or concern yourself with for adjustments. So if you're riding a 2019 Nukeproof Mega or other modern enduro and like Mexican food... treat yourself. Also, shout out to the Lost Co for helping me out with getting a 210x50 shock (since there were no 210x55's in stock) and removing the internal travel reducers so as I could get a 210x55 Fox DHX2 despite everything else being out of stock!
