Sales & Service Specialist – The Lost Co. (Bellingham, WA)

About The Lost Co:
We’re an e-commerce-driven mountain bike shop with a passion for high-quality service and a strong connection to the local riding community. We pride ourselves on expert-level knowledge, exceptional customer service, and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.

The Role:
We’re looking for a customer-focused team member to join us as a Sales & Service Specialist. This position is the first point of contact for customers walking into the shop, whether they need help finding the right gear, are dropping off a bike for service, or just want to talk shop. You’ll play a key role in creating a welcoming experience, providing accurate repair estimates, and assisting with both sales and service needs.

This is a seasonal position running through September 2025, with the potential for permanent employment in the Fall based on performance and business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist customers as the main in-store point of contact.

  • Help riders find the right parts, and accessories based on their needs.

  • Assess bikes and suspension components for repairs to present clear, accurate service estimates.

  • Coordinate service work, ensuring smooth communication between customers and mechanics.

  • Perform basic bicycle repairs, such as drivetrain adjustments, brake bleeds, and wheel truing.

  • Keep the shop organized and welcoming for customers and staff.

  • Stay up to date on the latest bike technology and industry trends.

  • Assist with online order pickups and customer inquiries.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 1-2 years of experience working in a bike shop.

  • Strong knowledge of mountain bikes, components, and repair processes.

  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly, customer-first attitude.

  • Ability to clearly explain service needs and repair estimates.

  • A team player who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Bonus Skills (Not Required, But Nice to Have):

  • Experience with suspension service and advanced repairs.

  • Familiarity with Lightspeed and Shopify or other e-commerce platforms.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Pay range: $18-24/hr (based on experience)

  • Schedule: 28-35 hrs/wk M-F only
